Mr. Connell graduated from the Widener University School of Law in 1997 where he served on the Moot Court Honor Society. Upon graduation from law school Mr. Connell was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in Chester County where he served from 1997 until 2000. Matthew Connell practices in the area of municipal liability and defense of civil rights and employment discrimination claims.

A founding partner of the MacMain Law Group, during his career Mr. Connell has developed extensive litigation skills defending police and correctional officers, government officials and municipalities in litigation having tried several cases to verdict in state and federal courts. He also routinely handles all phases of appellate advocacy having extensively briefed and argued cases in the appellate courts of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Connell’s practice also includes the representation of clients in various administrative proceedings having successfully defended employment matters in front of the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Connell also lectures on issues including civil rights litigation, legal issues facing correctional officials and codes officials, as well as discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

CAREER

Mr. Connell was born and raised as one of eight children in Philadelphia. Upon graduation from high school he worked his way through college as a house painter, factory laborer, roofer and sales clerk. Upon admission to Law School, Mr. Connell obtained a prestigious clerkship with Judge Eugene Edw. J. Maier of the Philadelphia County Court or Common Pleas before beginning his career as a prosecutor in the Delaware County District Attorney’s office.

David P. Karamessinis is a second vice president in the Travelers Companies Inc. Complex Claim Department in Hartford, Connecticut. As an attorney, David is admitted to practice in state and federal court and has over twenty years' experience handling public sector claims, including tort, civil rights, and employment claims. He assists the Risk Control Department with its employment and law enforcement training sessions.
